Logline:
A public land laborer’s fight to save the natural world.

Description:
The Last Tree Has Fallen is a nature & social justice short documentary recording the impacts of the 2025 NPS hiring freeze and federal funding cuts to federal public lands, focusing on some of the most impacted California National parks & public lands: Yosemite, and the Tahoe National Forest. We'll be visiting these places to interview park rangers, NPS employees, and forest service workers while also taking a look into their daily lives on the job, showcasing how they protect our public lands and the struggles they face with these changes. We'll also share the stories of former Park Rangers that have been fired, hearing from their first hand experiences.

Call to Action:
This is a call for awareness. We need people to stand alongside the Park Rangers and Public land defenders in this battle of protecting our environment.

Updates:
The story of our documentary is evolving with the new government attacks on our parks. We seek to cover what is going on as we film and educate. Park employees may need to be anonymous or have to drop out for their protection because of recent threats of job loss, we will navigate around this by interviewing those who are free to talk.

Estimated Costs:
Lodging for Yosemite & Lake Tahoe - $1,700
Gas - $600
Food - $1000
Distribution - $300
Equipment - $400
Total: $4,000
