We desperately NEED your help. We finally escaped our SLUM-LANDLORD… & we’re lucky enough to find a new space after a 7month search. But now we are scurrying to open to make revenue again. Sadly due to running two rents- The old shop & the new, we’re struggling to get t all done. Please help us bring this new shop to LIFE…
Read below for our backstory, and please help us put the horrid nightmare of our past slum landlord behind us by helping us CREATE a NEW Community Space for you!
BACKSTORY:
I Share this with a broken heart of shattered dreams… if you’ve visited my shoppe, you have seen & know the LOVE we’ve poured into building it out. I’ve watched that labor of love get destroyed repeatedly from floods & collapsed ceilings..
Sadly, I'm not new here. I’ve been forced to close my beautiful tearoom/cafe-apothecary 13 months out of the 37 months we have been open. Each time, we suffer significant loss of products and sales as we can’t facilitate our regular customer requests when we are closed. Today, I sit in my shop after another burst hot water pipe that took place Monday. It’s Friday and NOTHING has been done to replace the damaged light boxes and soiled ceiling tiles. Buckets are still everywhere and we are sitting without lights. Day 5 of lost sales… it’s just not FAIR OR RIGHT.
Our lease is up here and we MUST move. They have asked us to renew, but the slum landlord is refusing rent abatement or offering us any relief in rent payments as we continue to lose sales day after day.
Rents are now 3-4X higher than where we are now. Furthermore, a new space will require a down payment of 2-3 months' rent. We are stuck in this space as the slum landlord will not allow us to break the lease early. And We can’t pay them both! So we are seeking help to get out of this place before we lose more damaged product & not to mention the overwhelming amount of grief we have endured as we remain helpless against the landlord who appears to have all the power.
I’ve serviced so many with our Creole herbal brews and plant-based products. I want everyone to experience green living. But we have been limited to operating at the discretion of this slum landlord as yet again we are closed awaiting repairs of our 5th collapsed ceiling, aside from the 8 floods we have had. (2 being very major floods) I’ve trashed so many displays and thrown away tons of products with an estimated $18k in loss. All while we STILL pay rent as they FORCED US TO CLOSE from the negligence … adding in the months of rent?
It’s another $27k we’ve given to this landlord to NOT operate and fulfill our dream. That’s right, a whopping $45,000 in sheer LOSS!!! But It’s because of you we’ve been able to persevere & remain hopeful & push through it all…
Please share this with as many people as you can. Though my hope remains strong, my heart is just shattered that we’re here yet again. Any and every size donation will be appreciated. Please share. We want to keep helping others go green and get healthy. A new space will help us bring you all of our best! Thanking you in advance for your help and especially for even reading this far. We are in deep prayer as we get through the last few months at this nightmare storefront. We have declined renewal & looking for a NEW space. Please stay in prayer with us as we look for a better location…
