Support Carolina' Long Road to Recovery after Stroke

Our mother is one of the strongest women I know. She hasn't had an easy life, but she's always worked so hard to make ends meet, to help others, and to make her life and the people around her better.

Early this month, she unfortunately suffered the 2nd stroke in the last few years. The 1st one she was fortunate enough to only need minimal care. However, with this 2nd one, she has not been so lucky. She spent a week in the hospital and is currently at an inpatient facility. She is having to relearn basic human functions all over again (speaking, eating, walking, etc.). We are being told it will be a long road to recovery for her (18 months).

She is the only income in her household and of course, due to this awful situation, she is unable to work in the foreseeable future. As her immediate family, we are doing as much as we can, yet it is still not enough. If you could please find it in your heart to donate any amount, we will be so grateful!

Nuestra madre es una de las mujeres más fuertes que conozco. No ha tenido una vida fácil, pero siempre ha trabajado duro para llegar a fin de mes, ayudar a los demás y mejorar su vida y la de quienes la rodean.

A principios de este mes, lamentablemente, sufrió su segundo derrame cerebral en los últimos años. Con el primero, tuvo la suerte de necesitar solo cuidados mínimos. Sin embargo, con este segundo, no ha tenido tanta suerte. Pasó una semana en el hospital y actualmente se encuentra hospitalizada. Está teniendo que reaprender las funciones humanas básicas (hablar, comer, caminar, etc.). Nos dicen que su recuperación será larga (18 meses).

Es la única fuente de ingresos de su hogar y, por supuesto, debido a esta terrible situación, no podrá trabajar en un futuro próximo. Como su familia inmediata, estamos haciendo todo lo posible, pero aún no es suficiente. Si pudieran donar cualquier cantidad, ¡estaríamos muy agradecidos!
