Just two days before Thanksgiving, our world was turned upside down. Our mom suffered a sudden stroke and had to be life-flighted to Memorial Hermann in Houston. Since being admitted, doctors have discovered several additional medical complications that will make her recovery much longer and more challenging than we ever expected.

The stroke affected her severely — she has lost movement on the right side of her body and is currently unable to speak. On top of that, she was also having trouble with the functions of her kidneys, liver, and lungs. She is fighting through more than anyone should ever have to face at once, and we are doing everything we can to support her.

Once she is discharged, she will need to stay in a nursing facility to continue intensive rehabilitation for the stroke and ongoing treatment for her other medical conditions. The medical bills and the constant travel between Wharton and Houston to be with her are becoming overwhelming.

We are raising funds to help ensure she receives the care she needs and to support our family as we navigate this difficult time. Our mom means everything to us, and we want to give her every chance to heal, regain her strength, and eventually come back home.

Her husband, children, and grandchildren are praying every day for her recovery. We know this will be a long journey, but we also know she is strong — and with love and support, she can get through this.
