**Help Support Our Mom’s Recovery After Severe Injuries**
Our family is reaching out during an incredibly difficult time for our mom, who recently suffered two serious falls that have dramatically changed her day-to-day life.
She sustained multiple injuries, including a broken wrist and a fracture to the top of her tibia just below her knee. Both required surgery, and she now has plates and screws in place as part of her recovery. While the surgeries were successful, the road ahead is long and challenging.
She is a freelance musician, and music has always been at the heart of her life and work. These injuries have not only affected her physically, but have also brought her livelihood to an abrupt halt, adding financial uncertainty to an already overwhelming situation.
She had a stay in transitional care, where she required ongoing care, physical therapy, and support to regain mobility and independence. She was discharged on 4/13 due to Medicare coverage ending and is now staying in an extended stay hotel (for the next 4 weeks at least) for which she has to pay privately while continuing physical and occupational therapy. The reason for staying at an extended stay hotel is that her home is not accessible or safe at this time as she continues to be non-weight bearing on her leg and is unable to lift with her hand.
One positive change with the recent move is she can be with her beloved dog, Bessie, who is a constant source of comfort and companionship.
This sudden transition has been overwhelming—not only physically, but emotionally.
We are raising funds to help ease the financial burden associated with her recovery. Expenses are quickly adding up, including:
* Hospitalization and surgical costs
* Transportation to and from appointments
* Skilled nursing and rehabilitation care
* Medical and mobility equipment needed for recovery
* Lost income due to her inability to work
* Ongoing care for her dog
Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward supporting her care and helping her focus on healing without the added stress of mounting expenses.
If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page with others would mean so much to us.
Thank you for your kindness, support, and compassion during this time. It truly makes a difference.
