In April of this year, our world was turned upside down when our mom, Ka Vue, was diagnosed with thymic carcinoma, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. This devastating news has shaken our family to its core, but our mom's unwavering strength and resilience have inspired us all to stand by her side and fight alongside her. She was recently confirmed to start treatment on September 19 at one of the best cancer centers in the world, UCSF, and while we are hopeful, the financial burden of medical expenses, travel costs, short-term housing in San Francisco, and lost income weighs heavily on our family.
