Our family’s world was turned upside down on December 22, 2025, after a devastating multi vehicle collision on Highway 1 in Surrey. Tragically, the crash claimed a life, and our hearts are broken for everyone affected.

My mom was on her way to work when her vehicle was the first to be struck in a head on collision. In an instant, everything changed. She sustained multiple fractures on the left side of her body, including fractures in multiple areas of her arm and leg, and is currently awaiting emergency surgery.

Doctors have informed us that she will require screws and metal plates to stabilize her injuries, involving both her arm and her leg. These injuries and surgeries will significantly limit her mobility and independence and may cause long term physical limitations as she recovers.

She remains under close medical care and has been in and out of consciousness as doctors work to stabilize her injuries. She is now facing a long and painful recovery that will keep her away from work for an unknown period of time.

She has always been hardworking and independent, and seeing her in this condition has been incredibly difficult for our family. While some medical care is covered, the current insurance process does not account for many of the emotional, physical, and day to day challenges she is facing during recovery.

There are many overwhelming and unexpected costs, including caregiving support, transportation to appointments, household help, and essential bills, all while her claim is still being processed.
