Support Our Mission Trip to Nicaragua

Hello Family and Friends,
Tomorrow morning, I’ll be heading to Nicaragua for my first-ever mission trip, and I couldn’t be more excited (and a little nervous!). This is a weeklong opportunity to serve alongside 14 brothers from my fraternity at Virginia Tech, Beta Upsilon Chi (BYX), which is a Christian fraternity. I’m reaching out to ask for your prayers as we take this journey to make a positive impact, even in the short time we’ll be there.
We’re traveling to a small fishing village in the Guasacate/Popoyo area of Nicaragua to serve with an amazing ministry called Waves of Love. Michael and Paula, the founders, have been there for the last 15 years and have been doing incredible work.
I would appreciate prayers over the safety of myself and the other men that are going on this trip as well as for our hearts to be open to how God is going to reveal Himself to us and to the children and men that we will be interacting with during out time there. Here are some specific ways to pray over all of us:
- For safety and health as we travel and serve.
- For humility and open hearts within our team to hear God’s voice, see His work, and follow His direction in all that we do.
- For God’s love to shine through us and touch the lives of the children, families, and individuals we meet.
- For transformation—that this trip not only impacts the people in the community but also deepens our faith and strengthens our walk with Christ.
- For the ministry of Waves of Love, that God continues to bless their work and provide for their needs as they faithfully serve this community.
Additionally, If you feel a desire to donate to help me pay back the funds necessary to the trip, that would be very much appreciated. The trip itself is $1000 as well as flights to and from are $670 and so I created a Gofundme page that is looking to raise that amount.
