Hello, I’m Courtney Johns!

I am extremely thrilled to be the founder of Focused on My Future, an organization dedicated to closing the literacy gap in minority communities. Our family understands the significance of providing access to reading materials for children residing in urban neighborhoods. Our primary objective is to collect, acquire, and distribute books among these children, offering them invaluable resources that foster literacy.

A key focus of our work is encouraging parents to engage in reading activities with their kids. By instilling a passion for reading from an early age, we firmly believe that we can have a profound impact on a child's future accomplishments. Just 20 minutes dedicated to reading each day can make an incredible difference in their educational journey.

In today's fast-paced digital world, it is crucial for us to prioritize reading over excessive screen time. Through the provision of books and promoting reading as an enjoyable activity, our aim is to divert children away from excessive use of electronic devices and develop healthier reading habits.
