Support our mission and youth program

We’re a newly formed 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a BOLD and BRAVE mission. Together, with YOUR help we will combat racism through the arts and keep the cries for justice and equality at the forefront of America’s conscience.

BLACK LIVES STILL MATTER

The murder of George Floyd sparked the largest national and international protests against the injustices of racism that we have ever seen. Black in Mayberry responded by making a documentary film , that amplified Black voices and shared the often unspoken Black experience in America. Nationwide people were making signs to take to the streets and the media was reporting on Black Lives Matter protest ever hour.

This momentum made an impact and clearly demonstrated the desperate need for change. However, the work is not done and the fight for justice, equality, dignity is as pressing today as it was in 2020. We cannot wait for change we must BE THE CHANGE. We cannot wait on the next generation WE MUST ACT TODAY. Racism has too long caused death, injury and suffering to innocent people and we have the power to SAY NO MORE.

HOW CAN ART COMBAT RACISM?

We have seen firsthand the impact that art has on affecting an individual, communities and even the world. Art has been used for centuries as an act of resistance, a means to hide messages of hope and freedoms and as a conductor for discourse.

From music to dance, literature, painting, sculpting and other forms of art, African Americans have picked up the tool that is art to provide strength, encouragement and a messages that speaks volumes for centuries. Now with your support we’ll be using the arts to directly address racism, educate minds and change hearts.

OUR OBJECTIVES:

We will be building a bridge between artist and activists.

Creating opportunities through art for Black artists and youth.

MAKE A LIFE CHANGING DIFFERENCE TO 10 YOUNG BLACK ARTIST

Aside from covering operational costs, your donations will be going to the Youth Photographic Journal Program.

We believe that it is vitally important for Black Americans to tell their own stories and we want to empower more people to have the skills and the resources to do so.

This summer we want to teach photography to 10 young budding photographers. Not only will they learn exceptional skills from professional and experienced photographers but they will also be creating a photographic journal of their reality over a 6 weeks program.

We want to create a new generation of photographers who will record the Black experience in truth, without the shadow of stereotypes or prejudices.

Your donations will help to:
- Purchase cameras and other photography equipment
- Obtain a creative space
- Pay for printing, framing and other art production
- Transportation
