Dear Family and Friends,
We are very excited to be traveling back down to Honduras on a medical mission trip with One World Surgery on July 18th. Our upcoming brigade is comprised of 70 volunteers, made up of orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, OR techs, physician assistants, medical doctors, medical students, pre-medical students, and general volunteers of all ages. We will be running three operating rooms each day as well as performing medical exams and medical clearances for surgery. The patients we serve have been waiting years for the surgical and medical care that we are able to provide.
In addition, we will be completing many projects around the surgery center and the NPH children's' home. These projects will include painting, gardening, cooking, building repairs, playground maintenance, daily grounds upkeep, classroom instruction, patient education, and many others.
We are trying to raise funds needed to carry out the clinical and non-clinical work that we hope to accomplish while we are there. Specifically, we will be using funds to cover the costs of transporting medical supplies and purchasing donations for the children in the NPH homes, which are on the same grounds as the surgery center. We appreciate any support that you might be able to give. Please keep our group, the patients that we serve, and the children of NPH in your prayers.
We can't wait to get down there and get to work and will update you on our progress.
With gratitude,
OWS July 18th Brigade Volunteer Group
