Hi, my name is Annika, and I’m raising funds for a very close friend and longtime business partner who is currently navigating a major health challenge. After being diagnosed with thyroid cancer, she recently underwent surgery on her neck—an incredibly vulnerable place for a teacher whose work is grounded in the body, movement, and voice.

This diagnosis has meant an abrupt pause to her career as a Pilates instructor—one she has poured her soul into for years. As well as halting her right before completing more schooling to advance her career. She is now in a critical recovery period where rest, care, and time away from work are essential.

But as a self-employed movement teacher, student and mom, she doesn’t have access to benefits. The sudden loss of earnings is putting immense pressure on her household, while she is working to pay off student loans. 

We’re hoping to raise at least $15,000 to help cover lost income and help with basic living costs for the next few months. This includes rent, groceries, utilities, and childcare—so that she and her family can make it through this time without financial strain, and so she can focus entirely on healing.
