We're thrilled to share an incredible achievement by two outstanding local fourth-grade hockey players, Rook Landahl and Miller VanEss. These talented youngsters have secured coveted spots on The Western Selects Hockey Team and are gearing up for the International Brick Tournament in Edmonton this July—a competition that marks the pinnacle for 10U hockey players.
The Brick Tournament attracts elite teams from across North America, providing a unique opportunity for young athletes to compete on an international stage. Representing 12 western states, including Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Oklahoma, Nevada, Texas, and Utah, The Western Selects are set to make waves at the prestigious event.
Rook and Miller's journey doesn't stop there. The duo will embark on a hockey adventure, traveling to Pittsburgh, Chicago, and Vancouver for various Select hockey tournaments and team training camps. Locally, they'll also host a training camp in June, showcasing their commitment to excellence.
Both boys come from families deeply rooted in education and community service, grateful for the support they've received. However, the costs associated with this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity are substantial. That's where our community comes in!
We're rallying behind Rook and Miller to help them seize this incredible chance to represent Vegas hockey on an international level. The boys are passionate players, eager to showcase their skills and pride for our city. Only two players from Vegas have made the Brick team before, and Rook and Miller are ecstatic to be numbers 3 and 4.
Let's join forces to support these rising stars as they proudly carry the Vegas spirit to the International Brick Tournament and beyond. Your contribution will not only help fulfill their dreams but also inspire future generations of young athletes in our community.
Thank you for being a part of Rook and Miller's journey to greatness—let's make Vegas proud on the global stage! #VegasPuckPride
