Support Our Little Warrior's Jaw Surgery

Rainee is two weeks old.

• we go in at 10am for her jaw surgery at children’s in Birmingham, the surgery will start at noon & last around 3 hours give or take. We will be in the ICU for 2-3 weeks. I’m not going to go much into detail about everything they will do but she will be sedated for 3-5 days we can’t hold her feed her or change her during those days, when she gets woken up she will have to relearn how to use her bottle/paci and if she’s not feeding well she will come home on the feeding tube. She will also have metal rods coming out behind both ears for 8 weeks. There are several risks we are taking with allowing her to have her surgery with her being so tiny, they normally don’t do this type of surgery so early unless it is a life or death situation.. & in this case it is. Massive prayers that everything goes to plan & she recovers well. Also say a prayer for our big babies as we will not see them in person during our hospital stay as they don’t allow children under 12 into the icu. THANK YOU!
