From Sam and Richie: We’re reaching out with heavy hearts and hopeful spirits to ask for your support for our baby boy during this stressful time.
At Sam’s 20 week anatomy scan our baby boy was diagnosed with a rare and serious congenital heart defect: Dextro-Transposition of the Great Arteries (d-TGA) along with a Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). These complex heart conditions mean that the major arteries in his heart are reversed and there’s a hole between the lower chambers of his heart — conditions that require life-saving open-heart surgery within his first few days of life.
Baby Boy will need an extended stay in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) as he recovers from surgery and gains the strength every baby deserves to start life with.
While we are incredibly grateful for the expert care that he will be receiving at Boston Children’s Hospital, the emotional and financial toll is immense. Between hospital stays, specialized surgery, and ongoing follow-up care, our family is facing out-of-pocket medical expenses estimated at over $10,000, not including travel, meals, and lodging while we do our best to stay by his side.
We’re asking for your help to lighten that load so we can focus fully on Baby Boy and his recovery. Every single donation — big or small — makes a difference and means the world to us. If you’re unable to donate, we’d be so grateful if you could share this fundraiser with your network or keep our family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for walking this journey with us.
With Love,
