Welcome to the GoFundMe for The Darkroom, a short film produced by a crew of students from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa. The film is written by best friends Kylee Maxwell & Lily Mosher and produced by Hulita Drake.

Logline:

A shy, love sick photo developer becomes entranced by an electrifying customer, but when her manager fires her, she must take action to ensure their relationship before it is too late.

A Statement From The Writers:

“The initial spark while writing this film was the French phrase Coup de foudre. Literally translated it means lightning strike, but metaphorically it means love at first sight.​​ To me this juxtaposition explained the feeling perfectly. Love often makes people do crazy things and my hope with this film was to ask the question, what is the line between love and obsession?” -Lily

“As an artist, I wanted to create a story that explores the psychology of raw emotion. My entire life, my passion has been storytelling, and I wanted to create art that evokes an emotional response and showcases the complexity of humanity. This film dives into the intricacy of human relationships and connections, which hopefully will resonate with the audience.” -Kylee

Where Will The Money Go?

Our main goal in raising money is to be able to provide meals to both our cast and crew, along with reimbursement for transportation costs. Since this is a student film no one on set is getting paid so it’s the least we can do for everyone that is giving their time to help create this film. Any additional funds will go towards submitting to film festivals upon completion, along with additional costs during production such as location fees, props and decor.
