A couple of months ago, a man snuck up behind me and taunted my dog (who was on a short leash and trying to do his morning business) behind my back.

He is now suing me for $1M in the Supreme Court for an alleged dog attack and wants my dog put to sleep.

I am raising funds for our legal defense. The accident was not our fault and my dog does not deserve to be put to sleep because of this man's taunting and careless behavior. If I cannot raise the funds, then I will have to represent myself, and it will be a harder case to defend since I have no experience with the legal system at all! Legal Aid and other resources unfortunately do not help with civil cases like this one, so I have to find a private attorney.

What makes matters worse is that he is claiming to be disabled and out of work but I have tons of evidence that he has been working since the accident and living his life normally.

My dog is a gentle sweet soul who is always great with people, even with my young nieces!

As a rescue with 6 homes before mine, he's been through a lot - Lyme disease, a lump in his jaw, GI issues, skin issues, and malnutrition; and yet he continues to be a happy loving pup against all odds. He doesn't deserve this.
