Support Our Last Year at Urban Montessori

Our Goal:

We're aiming to raise $850 towards a class Field Trip on Friday April 25th! We have a total of 28 students, and 5 adult chaperones. Any additional funds raised will be added to our budget for our Elementary graduation and celebration before they move off into Middle School.

Hey there! We're the Manzanita classroom and we're so glad to see you here. We are students at Urban Montessori Charter School in grades 4-6. While we are sad our school is closing at the end of this academic year and we will all be in transition to traditional education next year, we want more than anything to end our year with immense joy and memories we've created together.

As you may know, our classroom community has been through big challenges and many transitions over the last two years. We've had four teachers over the last two years move on, and had another classroom, which dissolved, transfer into ours.

This year, we warmly welcomed Teacher Stef as our new Lead Teacher, and luckily Ms. Alesia came our way in January as Support Teacher.

Now, we are preparing to embark on our next big transition... a brand new school!

While we've been through quite a bit, we know that having happy experiences together will bring lasting memories we'll never forget.

Today we're asking for your very generous support to help make our collective dream of visiting San Francisco for a day possible.

While we're only just across the bridge, many of us have never been to San Francisco due to facing economic and personal challenges.

Why did we choose the city?

All year long, we have been reading the “Front Desk” series by Kelly Yang. In our last installation of the series, our main character, who is Chinese American, visits Chinatown in SF and the fortune cookie factory that still exists.

What we've done and what we're still doing to raise funds:

We've held three bake sales and one pizza sale fundraiser this year. While we've been successful in these endeavors, we're hoping to aim even higher.
