At Goal For A Child, our mission has always been to empower children in southern Sri Lanka through sport. Since 2022, we’ve organised football events, supported local teams, and created spaces where kids can learn, grow, and dream. Sport has become a crucial source of stability and confidence for these children, many of whom face difficult circumstances daily.

Recently, cyclone Ditwah hit Sri Lanka killing over 600 people and 11.000 are people displaced. It has also caused extensive damage to the communities we work with. Many of our coaches lost essential training equipment, several football fields were damaged or flooded, and school grounds have become unsafe to use.

To rebuild, we urgently need support to replace;

These fields are more than pitches, they are places where children find hope and joy.

At the same time, we are determined to continue our annual Christmas Event! Which gives children the chance to step away from hardship and experience a day full of celebration, joy, and inspiration. Your contribution will help us provide football activities, gifts, food, and a meaningful day of connection for children who rarely get moments like this. After the disruption and fear caused by the cyclone, this event will be a powerful reminder to them that brighter days are ahead and that they are not forgotten.

Your support will help us rebuild what was lost and ensure our Christmas Event can go ahead as planned. Together, we can restore safe spaces for children to play, help coaches recover, and give hundreds of young people a Christmas filled with hope, joy, and possibility.
