Support Our Mission Trip to Kenya, East Africa!

We are excited to share that we are raising funds and asking for prayers for our upcoming trip to Kenya. During our time there, we will engage in meaningful missions work at a local church and schools, while also immersing ourselves in the vibrant Kenyan culture.

This year, our projects will focus on some urgent and practical needs in the community:

Men’s Work: The men will be building new bath and shower rooms for a local boarding school. Currently, the children have nothing more than a sheet of steel to walk behind to do their business. Our hope is to provide safer, cleaner, and more sustainable facilities for the students. The school is far over capacity, and we want to do as much as we can to help improve their daily lives.

In addition, we hope to bring new life to the local “soccer field,” where games and tournaments are held. Right now, the field is rocky, thorny, and unmowed (there’s no mower available in the area), and the goalposts are simply two sticks. We would love to fund proper goalposts, clear and level the field, and create a safe, uplifting space that builds morale and strengthens the already vibrant community through the joy of soccer.

Women’s Work: The women will return to the FORWAC school and tile as many classrooms as we are able to fundraise for. Two years ago, $800 USD was enough to cover all the tile and cement for one classroom. Our goal is to complete at least one—maybe even two!—classrooms on this trip, continuing to improve the learning environment for students.

All of these projects will take place in Western Kenya, near Lake Victoria, a beautiful yet humble setting. Our team will be staying at the eco-friendly Pikidi Ecolodge, which provides a comfortable home base and is the perfect place for morning Bible studies and evening debriefs.

How You Can Help:
We are accepting donations to cover project funds such as building materials, tile and cement, paint supplies, soccer field improvements, as well as general trip expenses, including transportation and luggage expenses. Your support will also give us opportunities to bless the families we’ll be serving and meeting along the way.

The trip will be led by Bill Akoo, who was born and raised in Kenya, and now lives in Kansas City with his wife Erin and their baby girl, Nia Jane. (Both Erin and Nia Jane will be traveling with the team.)

Whether you are able to contribute financially or not, we would greatly appreciate your prayers.
Please pray for Godly conversations, the opportunity to share the Gospel with those who haven’t heard it, and for our safety and health throughout the journey.

We are soooo grateful for any support you feel led to give!
