Help Me and My Son Start Fresh: Support Our Journey to Safety and Freedom
Three years ago, I said a prayer to God, asking for land to raise my son and provide a sanctuary for single mothers like myself. Miraculously, three days later, I met someone who generously gave me the money to purchase land. Excited and hopeful, I included my best friend in this venture, envisioning a supportive community for single moms.
However, the day we signed the title, my friend changed her mind. She wanted a private homestead and soon moved a man she met online onto the property. From that moment on, she saw me as a problem. Over the last three years, I have endured relentless bullying, manipulation, and gaslighting. I have been made to feel unwelcome on the land that was supposed to be a sanctuary.
My Struggle
In February 2024, I asked her if she would buy me out for $45,000. She initially offered $15,000, but after negotiations, we settled on $28,000. I accepted this because my freedom, safety, and my son’s well-being are worth more than a prolonged battle. She assured me the funds would be ready by the end of April. Now, months have passed, and I am still waiting, left in the dark and unable to care for my son the way he deserves.
Living off-grid as a single mother has taken a severe toll on my mental and physical health. I can no longer live in survival mode, constantly in fight or flight. I need to move forward for the sake of my son and myself.
A Tragic Turn
In July 2023, the generous person who helped me purchase this land took his own life. While I can’t say my situation was the only reason, I know it played a significant role. As things stand, if anything were to happen to me, my friend would inherit the entire property. This makes me fearful of taking legal action while I remain within her reach.
Our Goal
My name is Heather, a single mom living off-grid with my eight-year-old son, Elliott, a two-year-old Great Pyrenees mix named Orly, and our kitty girl named Money. I am starting this GoFundMe to raise funds to purchase a motorhome. This will allow my son and me to leave the property safely and proceed with legal action to force the sale and ensure a fair split of the proceeds. Your support will help us escape this toxic environment and start anew in a safe, secure space.
Please help us reach our goal of $28,000. Every contribution, no matter how small, brings us closer to freedom and peace. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
