Help Me Give My Rescued Cats a Safe, Stable Home
$15,000 goal | Northern California | Cat Rescue & Safe Housing
Hi, and thank you for taking a moment to read our story.
I’m a writer and devoted cat parent living in Northern California. My home is an older RV, which I share with a rather extraordinary family of rescued cats and kittens.
What began with rescuing one little cat grew into something I never expected: a home full of animals who needed safety, patience, food, and love.
My first rescue, Obsidian, came into my life as a tiny kitten. Today, she’s a beloved member of a much larger feline family. Over time, I’ve welcomed other cats in need, cared for mothers and their kittens, and done my best to give every one of them a place where they feel safe.
They aren’t just numbers to me. They have names, personalities, friendships, favorite sleeping spots, and little routines that make every day special.
There’s Croissant, a tiny orange kitten who loves attention. Selenite, who has taken on a mothering role with kittens who aren’t biologically hers. And Obsidian, who has grown from a rescued baby into a protective, affectionate mother herself.
I love this family dearly.
But our current living situation isn’t sustainable long-term.
Our older RV has several problems, including plumbing issues and other maintenance needs. With so many cats relying on me, the space is difficult to manage, and I’m concerned about our long-term safety and stability.
I’m working toward stable employment and financial independence. My goal is to build a future where I can consistently provide for myself and my animals without needing outside assistance.
In the meantime, I need help getting us there.
What Your Donations Will Support
I’m hoping to raise $15,000, with the following planned budget:
* $7,500 — Safer housing: Saving toward a suitable RV, trailer, or other housing arrangement, including possible relocation costs.
* $4,000 — Veterinary care: Spaying and neutering, vaccinations, examinations, and other essential medical needs.
* $2,000 — Everyday cat care: Food, litter, cleaning supplies, and other necessities.
* $1,000 — Immediate RV repairs: Addressing urgent safety and maintenance concerns while we work toward better housing.
* $500 — Fees and unexpected expenses: Covering donation processing costs and unforeseen needs.
These are starting estimates. I’ll share updates as expenses become clearer and explain any necessary changes.
What We’re Working Toward
I’m not asking for a luxury home or an extravagant lifestyle.
I’m hoping for a secure place with working utilities, enough room to care for the cats properly, and a stable environment where we can build a better future.
A place where the kittens can grow safely.
Where the adult cats can rest without the stress of overcrowding.
Where I can focus on working, writing, and supporting our household.
And where the animals I’ve promised to care for can have the quality of life they deserve.
I know that caring for so many cats is an enormous responsibility. That’s why veterinary care, spaying and neutering, and finding a more manageable living situation are central parts of this fundraiser.
How You Can Help
Any contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to that goal.
If donating isn’t possible, sharing this fundraiser, recommending affordable veterinary resources, or connecting us with local animal welfare organizations would also mean a great deal.
I’ll do my best to share updates, photos, veterinary progress, and milestones so supporters can see how their kindness is making a difference.
Thank you for reading our story, caring about these little lives, and helping us work toward a safer future.
With love and gratitude,
One human and a whole lot of paws.
