Support Our Journey to Jean Pictet 2025

Greetings! We are Sheikh Saaim Shahzad, Sadia Asif and Rana Muhammad Hasham Asghar, enthusiastic students from National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) Islamabad, Pakistan, pursuing our bachelor's degree in law.

It is with immense pride and a sense of responsibility that we announce our selection to represent our esteemed university at the 45th Jean Pictet Competition, to take place from 8th to 15th February 2025 in Antalya, Türkiye.

The Jean Pictet Competition is more than a contest; it is a celebration of International Humanitarian Law (IHL) on an international stage. It sets out to take the law out of the books and grant students from different countries the opportunity to learn about the aforementioned law in an educationally stimulating environment. Our path to securing a place in this prestigious competition was no small feat. Competing against numerous law schools globally, our commitment, hard work, and fervent passion for law have been the cornerstones of our success.

However, due to the ever-prevalent financial challenges of our country, Pakistan, we are facing difficulties in funding our trip and despite being able to raise 1000 euros through savings, we still require funding to cover our travel expenses. It must be noted that the average monthly household income of a middle-class house is equivalent to the airline ticket of one person. Thus, we still have a remaining cost of 2000 euros ($2100) to help us obtain tickets from Islamabad to Antalya.

As a result of ever rising inflation and economic crisis, there are limited to no avenues available for local sponsorship, thus, we turn to you for support. These grants are essential for us to embark on this journey and represent our university with distinction.
