Help us move to Indiana and become homeowners!!
I'm unsure how much traction this might get, but I would love to at least give it an attempt, despite hating relying on others for help.
To put it plainly, we're stuck. I moved to California from Georgia a little under 2 years ago now, in order to live with my long-distance boyfriend. His family has graciously provided us with lodging together for the time I've been here, but it's coming to a head soon that we'd like to move out. Our space is too small, not private, incredibly poorly ventilated, and we are both being pulled every which way by others in his family, leaving us with vanishingly little free time together, despite all the struggle it took to be here together in the first place. We're wanting to move in order to settle down with our other partner. California's cost of living is FAR too astronomically high for us to comfortably settle here, so we're wanting to pick things up and move to Indiana, where he lives, and get a house there, if at all possible. We're hoping that, by November, we'll collectively have the funds for a down payment on a house, and will be able to start the drive there, but I was unaware of how expensive moving prices can be at such a long distance.
I'm typing this out in the middle of the night in hopes that I will be lucky enough that generous people will help me at least ATTEMPT to ease the burden on us. I do not want him to worry about these issues, or the fact that no matter how we end up doing the move, the costs for the transport of our belongings alone can easily exceed $3,000, not to mention the gas. I do not expect that goal to be met, even if it would fill me with enough joy to bring me to tears, but I swear to you all that any extra money will also be used to further any of our moving expenses, including any sort of down payment, furniture purchasing, and more.
