Support our Journey to a Healthy Kidney

Hi! My name is Alley and I have two amazing daughters, Adrianne who is 8, and Lillian who is 1. God truly blessed me with the most amazing kids, and their strength and resilience are truly amazing.

Starting in January of this year, my sweet Lillian started getting UTI/kidney infections quite frequently, resulting in 8 separate hospital trips in the last 8 months.

We were referred to a specialist in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Since being under the care of the urology team here in Hershey, my sweet baby has had to have multiple ultrasounds, MRIs, and CT scans. At the beginning of August, she had a scan done that revealed a blockage in the tube connecting her left kidney to her bladder. She was admitted to the hospital that day to await surgery the following week. I was so relieved to finally have some answers and was overwhelmed with hope for a road to a healthy, fully functioning kidney for my baby. The surgery went wonderfully, and we finished out our course of antibiotics in the hospital. After 11 days, Lillian was discharged. We were so happy to go home and get back to normalcy.

Unfortunately, 2 weeks after being discharged, she became sick again with another kidney infection. The bacteria she keeps getting is extremely resistant to the majority of antibiotics on the market. So, we were admitted back to Children's Hospital in Hershey to do another 10-day course of antibiotics via IV. Her urologist said despite having another infection, her kidney was still on the way to being a fully functioning, healthy kidney. So again, we left still optimistic.

Now here we are again. Less than two weeks after finishing a 10-day stay at the hospital, we are back with another infection.

This will be 31 days in the hospital since the beginning of August. With Hershey being over an hour from our home, it is not easy to commute back and forth, so I have spent the majority of the time being with her. I have missed so much work over the last 6 months, especially in just these last 45 days. I am a bartender, so tips are how I survive; I do not get PTO. So financially, I am drowning.

I have made this GoFundMe for two reasons.

One being to just ease the financial burden that has unfortunately come with being on this journey to a healthy kidney with Lillian.

Secondly, my sweet Adrianne deserves the world. Lillian and I miss her so much, and we cannot wait to be home with her again. She has been so strong through all of this, being shuffled here and there to make sure she is still getting to school every day. As soon as we get Lillian healthy and get back on our feet, I really want to do something special for Adrianne. I am hoping that with the help of my village, I can do something to help make up for the fact that her mom has been pretty MIA for two months.

While any monetary donation helps immensely, the utmost important thing we all need right now is prayers.

Through all of this, it has been the most beautiful, heartwarming thing to see just how incredible my village is. I will never be able to express how grateful I am for all the love and support we have received thus far. Thank you for loving and supporting me and my girls. ❤️❤️
