If you or a loved one have experienced any form of depression, you know that it can feel very isolating, muddled, and bleak. Having both walked through this in different times of our lives, my friend Ellen Judy and I have partnered together to create a brief but beautiful book to be a small ray of light for those who are in the middle of such a season.

The idea for this book was birthed several years ago, when I was struggling with Seasonal Affective Disorder. I looked for resources and there were many that were clinical in nature. While these are very helpful, I was hoping to find something to use in tandem that would also awaken something in my heart. Since that was not available, I realized I would have to develop something.

The Light of Dawn Will Come: Declarations in Seasons of Depression became a poem of anchors that I have found I need when navigating depression. Words are paired with Ellen's serene water-color illustrations. We truly believe that what we have created is not just a project for us personally, but that it can be a source of encouragement and hope to many others.
