Support Our IVF Journey After Tragedy

Donation protected
Hi all, first, to those who know our story and have supported, loved, and prayed for us through the last two years, THANK YOU. Your support, love, and prayers have gotten us to where we currently are. For those who don’t know our story, I was in a horrific car accident 2 years ago that should have taken my life. I broke my neck, back, sternum, 10 ribs, partially collapsed a lung, perfed my bowel, and ended up with a temporary colostomy bag for 7 months (and had surgery to reverse it). My right knee was completely blown out, and they had to do an experimental surgery to build me a new knee cap essentially; my right heel was also blown out, and reconstruction of that was necessary. In addition, I had compound fractures of my right tib/fib and left and right ankle. My Achilles tendon and my right hip abductor also had to be reattached. I was 10 weeks pregnant with our daughter Leighanna at the time, who survived just long enough to give us two beautiful, memorable days until, ultimately, she passed away after being born at only 22 weeks and 3 days.
Austin and I have been trying to conceive since 2021. Still, unfortunately, I had multiple miscarriages before my pregnancy with Leighanna, where the issue was corrected, which is how her pregnancy stuck. Unfortunately, due to the accident, my entire abdomen is filled with an immense amount of scar tissue, causing scar tissue to be wrapped around my fallopian tubes. They have attempted surgery to try to remove the scar tissue to preserve my natural fertility. Still, unfortunately, there is so much scar tissue in my abdomen they could not even see any of my reproductive organs without opening me up. The surgeon said the surgery would be so extensive at this point that he does not think that the benefits would outweigh the risks as they may have to remove more of my bowel if I could even find a surgeon to attempt said surgery. Before my surgery, attempting to remove the scar tissue, Austin and I had another miscarriage because the embryo could not implant with the amount of scar tissue present. We were told after surgery that the only way for me to get pregnant from this point on would be IVF. Although this is secondary to the car accident, our insurance will not cover any of my IVF treatments. It is costly, with my medications alone costing $5,000 out of pocket. My actual IVF will cost me $21,000 out of pocket, not including labs, ultrasounds, or any other unexpected procedures. We have been so fortunate with my recovery that we hope we can fulfill our dream of completing our family. Any donations will be so greatly appreciated. If you are not able to contribute, please share, keep us in your prayers, and I will continue to recover and make this dream a reality.
