Hello Everyone!

Get Down Wendy Brown is an undergraduate thesis film written and directed by Amanda Carmen Thompson and produced by Gabrielle Speight-Leach. We are both graduating seniors at Howard University putting our best foot forward to make this the absolute best it can be.

Get Down Wendy Brown is a coming of age story set in Robeson County, where summer ends with one unforgettable dance. Wendy Brown rules the disco floor, and D.K. Thompson has one last chance to ask her to dance.

With a plan in place but nerves getting in the way, D.K. must decide will he miss his moment, or find the courage to step up before the music stops?

This film is a fun adaptation of the not so true story of how Amanda's parents met.

All of the money that is raised will help with:
  • Production Equipment
  • Set Design
  • Costume & Props
  • Craft Services
  • Travel Expenses
  • Locations
  • Marketing

With your support, we can bring this heartfelt story to life and showcase the talent, culture, and spirit of our community on screen. Every donation, big or small, helps us take one step closer to making this dream a reality. Let’s get this story on the dance floor!
