My daughter's team for National History Day has taken 2nd place for junior exhibit at state. This means they are qualified to go to nationals competition in Washington, DC. The theme this year for competition is Rights and Responsibilities. They picked the Love Canal tragedy. This group of girls has worked tirelessly in and out of school to make it this far. Unfortunately, the funding for assisting in paying for this trip is very limited with government cuts. The cost out of pocket is $2400 for one student and parent to chaperone. This doesn't include food and any other expenses. All the teammates have to go or forfeit this awesome chance to excel. We have a very short amount of time to come up with this money for the trip. The deadline for plane tickets is the end of May. This puts a huge strain on us financially and we want her to be able to go. Please consider donating anything you can to help her in this incredible experience.
