10/7/25 Update: Ross has exhausted the plasma supply at his current veterinary hospital. He is showing improvement with stabilized vitals and his protein levels have improved with the plasma and protein in his parental nutrition. He would greatly benefit from canine albumin, however we are unable to locate a facility with it at this time. Due to the lack of supply at his current facility, he is being transferred to North Carolina State veterinary hospital for further care and treatment. They will be able to provide for his plasma demand and they will be able to continue to provide 24/7 monitoring and care. Please pray for his transportation to Raleigh from Fayetteville and that these veterinary providers can continue to aid in Ross’s improvement. The prayers are working. However, this transfer will come with a heavy financial burden, therefore any support is extremely helpful and is graciously appreciated. Thank you all for the continued prayers, support, messages, and sharing of Ross’s journey thus far.

10/6/25 Update: Ross has remained at the veterinary hospital where his procedure was done. His vitals began as unstable but after some medication adjustments yesterday his vitals were able to stabilize. A catheter was placed yesterday. He received a plasma treatment yesterday. Unfortunately, we were unable to visit him yesterday since they were working adamantly to stabilize him. The good news is that he did not have a fever yesterday and remains fever-free into today. His vitals are now stabilized, but he is not standing or walking. His legs were swollen so they have reduced his fluids. They have suggested that he be transferred to N.C. State. Please pray for further improvement in Ross’s condition and that he is able to receive the care that he needs to heal. Thank you all for continued support and prayer.

10/5/25 Update: Ross’s surgery ended late in the evening yesterday and they were able to address the complications from the first procedure. The veterinarian called around 1:00 AM this morning stating Ross was not doing well but we’re hoping to see improvement into today. He is currently battling septic shock from complications related to the first procedure he had on Monday. Please continue to pray for improvement and strength today for Ross. We thank you all deeply for all of the prayers and messages. #RootingForRoss

Our beloved therapy dog, Ross the Doodle, needs our help.

Ross is an 8-year-old Labradoodle who has spent years spreading love, comfort, and smiles at Cape Fear Valley Hospital, the Fayetteville VA Medical Center, and in local nursing homes. Whether it’s brightening a patient’s day, calming anxious families, or lifting the spirits of long-term care residents, Ross has a special way of bringing joy wherever he goes.

Sadly, Ross recently faced a serious medical emergency involving his gastrointestinal tract. He underwent surgery to save his life, but unfortunately, complications arose, and he is now facing a second surgery just days after the first.

The total cost for his medical care is estimated to reach $15,000, a heavy and unexpected financial burden. Despite the challenges, Ross continues to wag his tail and show the same loving spirit that has touched so many hearts over the years.
