Support Our Hero Nurse as She Fights Cancer

Dear friends, family, neighbors, co-workers and kindhearted strangers. We are reaching out to share the story of Cindy Hart, who has recently been diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia (APL), a rare and aggressive form of blood cancer.

For years Cindy has dedicated her life to caring for others. As a Registered Nurse, including Hospice Care, she has been the source of strength, comfort and hope for countless patients and their families. But now, Cindy is facing her own battle— one she never expected. Twice before, she has faced breast cancer and through her strength and determination became a survivor. This new diagnosis comes as a heartbreaking blow to her and her loved ones. She is not just a nurse~ she’s a mother, daughter, sister, wife and friend. Her selflessness and dedication to her profession have made an incredible impact on others and now we have an opportunity to give back.

Since the diagnosis in Early November, Cindy was immediately sent to The Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston (2-hours from home) to start her intensive treatment which includes daily chemotherapy and supporting therapies for a month which have already included blood transfusions.

The road to recovery will be long and challenging, but her doctors are hopeful and positive that with the right treatment, APL can be overcome. Unfortunately, this journey comes with significant financial burdens. Between medical bills, time away from work and related expenses, the costs are overwhelming.
