We, Mark and Sheila Galaz, live in the Foothills of Southern California in La Crescenta. Thankfully, we were spared in the devastating fires, and our beautiful yard and home are safe and secure. What makes our home so beautiful is the yard surrounding it. For over 20 years, a wonderful gardener named Manuel Navarro has tended our yard. Manny became not only a gardener for our yard in Southern California but a mentor to Mark on how to fix sprinkler heads, repair downed fences, and pour concrete on our patio. Every week, he showed up to not only care for our yard but to lift our spirits with his wisdom and sage advice. We have come to love Manny, and he considers us family. If any of you came to our daughter Eliza’s wedding, you can appreciate Manny's attention to detail and the love he put into our yard so Eliza and Joel would have a perfect backyard wedding. Manny is an exceptional human being, and he lost his home of many years in the Eaton Canyon fire. Manny is an older man now and isn’t able to carry on with the same work for much longer. Any amount of financial aid you can give to help Manny rebuild his life would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your kindness.
