We are raising funds for the film "The Quiet" written by Matthew Cuevas and directed by Jay Goldenberg. This film explores the relationship between two brothers at their mother's funeral; including the conflict that has lived between them for many years. Our goal is to film this project in late October of 2025. Please check back for more information on the project.
Director Jay Goldenberg:
Jay Goldenberg has worked as an actor, director, acting teacher and coach in New York, Los Angeles and on various locations. He has coached actors Salma Hayek, Cybill Shepherd, Michael Chiklis, Jared Leto, Ione Skye, Estelle Getty, Trevor St. John, Shelley Hennig and others.
Working in theater, film and television has given Jay the opportunity to learn and grow through many opportunities and experiences. In the past few years Jay has additionally enjoyed the position of Director of Education at The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts.
Jay has a Masters of Fine Arts in Acting from NYU School of the Arts. He has studied with Olympia Dukakis, Harold Guskin, Ron Van Lieu, and Roy London among others.
Writer Matthew Cuevas:
Matthew Cuevas is a debut writer living in New York City. Originally from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Matthew's writing and perspective is heavily influenced by his home; from his working class family and friends to the aesthetic of the city itself. He hopes to tell personal and relatable stories about his home, about family, and about the nuances therein.
Synopsis:
On a chilly autumn day, two brother's clash about life, death, and family as they navigate their mother's funeral and the noise surrounding it. As they strive to understand what they're left with in their mother's wake, will their divergent past be their future?
