Hello! My name is Brendan O'Callaghan, and I'm the writer and director of Don't Look at Me Like That, an upcoming coming-of-age drama filming in Savannah, Georgia this fall.

The film follows May, a young woman at a difficult point in her life who needs help but doesn't know how to ask for it. As she starts looking for connection in the wrong places, she finds herself seen by someone in a way she isn't ready for.

This story has been developing in my mind for a long time. I've always been drawn to the ways people hide themselves without meaning to. The things they struggle to say directly. The ways they reach for one another when they don't yet understand what they're looking for.

Rather than asking May to explain herself cleanly, this film stays with her in that uncertainty. It allows her to be contradictory, difficult, selfish, and scared without reducing her to a lesson or a villain. At its core, the film follows her search for resolution and the hope that even imperfect attempts at connection can bring us closer to being understood.

We have already assembled an incredible team to help bring this story to life. Our crew includes award-winning cinematographer Andrew Weir and experienced producer Preston Bowman. The casting process will also begin in the coming weeks.

Every person joining this project shares a commitment to telling this story with honesty, care, and attention to detail.
