Hi, my name is Clare and I'm running the London Marathon for someone incredibly special to me. It's definitely been a minute since I've done anything this big and let's be honest I hate running on the tarmac!
My close family member (who doesn't want to be named) was recently diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer, a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer that’s harder to treat than most. Unlike other types, it doesn’t respond to common hormone therapies, which means fewer treatment options and a tougher road ahead.
They face six months of intense chemotherapy, followed by a Mastectomy and further chemo / radiation.
This diagnosis has been devastating, but they have faced it with unbelievable strength and courage. I want to do something to support them and others by raising money for a charity close to our story, Coppafeel!
CoppaFeel! was founded in 2009 by Kris Hallenga and her twin sister Maren Hallenga. Kris was diagnosed with incurable stage 4 breast cancer at the age of 23, which inspired her to start the charity to raise awareness about breast cancer in young people and encourage early detection through regular self-checks
Every mile I run is for this special person and those who face this every day. Every donation, no matter how small, helps lift some of the weight off their shoulders and reminds them they not alone in this fight.
Please consider donating and sharing this page. Your support means more than words can say.
With love and gratitude,
Clare
