Jim Keomorokot was a father of 4, a brother of 11 siblings, and a first generation immigrant and refugee from Laos that had deeply bonded roots within his communities. Jim passed away abruptly from a heart attack on Saturday, August 9th at 7:05pm at 64 years old. The world didn’t grant him enough time to finish his story and his children (ages 19, 21, 30, & 33) are left behind to pick up the pieces.
My father loved to tell his stories, sing, go fishing, and enjoy life. He was always tentatively working on his health by focusing on his lifestyle, exercising, and his diet - yet the world still took him from us.
We are fundraising for my father’s Lao Buddhist ceremonial rites and funeral procession. Right now, my father’s spirit is lost and to properly send my father off, we have to perform a Hun Dee ceremony of a week that will help guide his spirit before the funeral. In Lao culture, time is of the essence for one’s passing and the first week after passing is crucial.
Please help us guide his spirit, any donations will help to cover the costs of the week long ceremonies.
