On New Year’s Day, a fire took a machine shed on our farm that housed critical equipment, livestock feed, and our mealworm operation. We are grateful to share that no one was hurt.
Like many farms, we build with the understanding that risk is part of agriculture. While this loss is significant, it does not change our purpose or our commitment to stewarding the land, caring for animals, and building resilient local food systems.
We’ve been deeply humbled by the messages, prayers, and offers of support. So, after some coaxing, we decided to open a Farm Recovery Fund. for those who have generously inquired. This fund will support the restoration of essential farm infrastructure following the New Year’s Day fire.
Contributions help rebuild operational capacity and strengthen long-term resilience, including:
• Replacement of essential equipment & tools
• Rebuilding fencing for chickens winter home
• Replacement of chicken feed due to total loss mealworm operation
As we remain future-focused, funds deemed over and above immediate need may be used to support scholarships for those who want to participate in the farm membership program.
This fund is not an insurance replacement.
We are grateful for the support of those who wish to contribute as we rebuild thoughtfully and responsibly.
