Our Winter Farmers Market sheds were stolen from the summer storage lot that they have been kept at for the last 5years. We discovered this heartbreaking news when we went to transport the sheds back to Winter Market Location on the morning of Wednesday , December 3.

This theft not only affects our family, but also the many farmers and vendors that have relied on this winter market for their income over the last eight years. Several of the small family farms that have participated in this market have been part of this location for 30yrs. Loosing these sheds threatens the direct farmer- to - consumer that has kept this market open year round and supported both farmers and the surrounding community.

This is a devastating blow during the winter months and especially during the holiday season. For our family the loss is deeply emotional. Bringing the highest - quality fruits and vegetables into the city has been our family’s legacy for more than 100yrs. Many of the people who shop at this same location have watched my young family work and grow at this market in front of the Charles Hotel.

They started working here at a very young age and I always knew that they were safe here.

We have long called this market our second home and during the summer when people would ask when do we go on vacations, I would smile and say I am on vacation, at this market.

We share a personal connection with nearly every customer who shops under our tent, which is what led us to keep this market open year round.

First and foremost , we would like express our deepest gratitude for the love and support of the Charles Hotel and Henrietta’s table. This market would not exist without their continued generosity.

We are asking for help to replace the two sheds as soon as possible so we can continue feeding the families who have relied on us for many years. Until the sheds are replaced, we will continue to come to the market under tents, weather permitting
