Support Our Family's Recovery from Vandalism
Donation protected
Last Tuesday at 12:30AM, my family’s life changed in an instant. Our backyard was broken into and vandalized, and our shed was set on fire because of our political beliefs. The destruction was overwhelming—our shed was completely destroyed, along with all of my dad’s tools, hardware. The fire also damaged our deck, melted the white vinyl fence, and stripped the siding from our house. Even our neighbor’s siding was damaged badly. The backyard, once a place where we gathered to relax, now looks like a warzone.
The emotional toll has been just as severe as the physical damage. I’ll never forget the look of fear and hopelessness on my family’s faces as we watched the shed burn. My sister and mother were in tears, and we all felt helpless. Every day, coming home is a reminder of what we lost. The shed wasn’t just for storage—it was a place where we’d hang out, play darts, watch TV, and enjoy the hot tub. Losing it has taken away a part of our daily life and the tools we need to start repairs.
We’re grateful to be alive, and that’s thanks to our dog, who woke us up in the middle of the night to go outside. If not for that, the fire could have spread to our house, and things could have been much worse. The authorities are doing what they can, but with limited evidence, it’s unlikely those responsible will be found. We’re raising funds to help both our family and our neighbor recover—rebuilding the shed, repairing the house and deck, replacing the fence, and restoring what was lost. Any support will help us move forward from this tragedy and begin to heal.
