Our sweet boy Charlie was with us for only four short years, but he filled our lives with a love and light that will stay with us forever.
Charlie was born with a rare brain disorder called polymicrogyria, along with cerebral palsy. These diagnoses brought many challenges, but they never defined who Charlie was. He was so much more than any medical term—he was pure joy, courage, and love. His smile could brighten any room, and his presence brought comfort and warmth to everyone lucky enough to know him.
Even in his quietest moments, Charlie had a way of reaching people. He taught us what it means to be strong—not in the loud, obvious ways, but in the gentle, powerful way of simply continuing on, day by day, with love in your heart. He found joy in the smallest things: a soothing song, the feeling of being held, the sound of our voices, the closeness of family.
Losing Charlie has left a hole in our hearts that can never be filled. But we are so grateful for every single moment we had with him. The snuggles, the peaceful mornings, the hard days, and the good ones—they were all part of the beautiful life we shared with our son.
As we move forward, we’ve made the decision to relocate to be closer to family. This next chapter is one we take with both heavy hearts and hope. We know that surrounding ourselves with loved ones will help us continue healing, and will give us the strength to carry Charlie’s memory with us every step of the way.
Charlie may no longer be in our arms, but he is forever in our hearts. We will carry his spirit with us always, and we’ll keep honoring his life through love, through kindness, and through the quiet strength he taught us every day.
We miss you so much, sweet boy. You were—and always will be—so deeply loved
