Hi, my name is Hailey, and I’m the youngest daughter of Lovette, my beautiful and strong mom who just received a life-saving kidney transplant on July 13, 2025. She’s been battling lupus nephritis since she was diagnosed in 2012. The disease started attacking her kidneys right away. Later that same year, she was already in Stage 3 kidney disease. In 2016, doctors started preparing her for dialysis, but my mom is a fighter — she refused. She finally had her fistula placed in 2017, but still held off until 2019, when she could no longer wait. Since then, she’s been on dialysis while raising me and continuing to run her business. She’s always been our rock, but even the strongest people need help sometimes. We weren’t prepared when the call came — she had just a few hours to get to the hospital. Now that she’s had her transplant, we have to travel from Bakersfield to USC in Los Angeles 3 or more times a week for blood work, labs, and follow-up appointments. That means long drives, gas, parking, hotel stays when needed, and other medical costs — and it’s already adding up fast. I created this GoFundMe to help with all the unexpected travel and recovery expenses, so my mom can focus on healing and getting stronger.
