Support Our Family Through Alzheimer’s & Aneurysm Crisis
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Shannon Collins Burke and I’m reaching out for help during an incredibly difficult time for our family. My husband has recently been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s disease and an aneurysm, a combination that has disqualified him from drug trials that offered a glimmer of hope. We are currently uninsured and now face self-pay costs for neurological care and aneurysm treatment—expenses that are far beyond our means.
Right now, he is still working, but every day is a struggle. His condition is making it harder for him to keep up, but because he’s technically employed, we are unable to qualify for Social Security disability or Medicaid. Ironically, we’re in a heartbreaking limbo: waiting for a layoff so we can start the process of getting help.
In the meantime, we’re trying to manage medical expenses, specialist visits, and the overwhelming stress of not knowing what comes next.
In the midst of all this, we have one heartfelt wish: to take a short trip or two with our 11-year-old son before the disease progresses. We want to create memories together while my husband is still able to enjoy and remember them. This may sound like a luxury, but for us, it’s a piece of joy and peace in an otherwise turbulent time.
We’re humbly asking for help to:
• Cover urgent medical expenses and specialist care
• Support us during the transition into disability and insurance
• Make a family memory trip possible before it’s too late
Any amount, no matter how small, makes a difference. If you can’t donate, please consider sharing this campaign with others. Your kindness and compassion mean more to us than words can express.
With deep gratitude,
Shannon, Patrick, and Phillip
