Hi everyone, it hurts me to say that my family lost our matriarch. If you had the pleasure of knowing my grandma, you know that she was amazing. She was loving, bright, bold, funny and appreciated the little things in life. At 50 my grandma suffered a massive stroke. At the time she had just recently left her job of 30 years at Sharon health care for a career change. She began working with the Human service center in Peoria. Once she found herself an empty nester she decided to become a foster parent. She opened her home to many children over the years. Her health declined to a point she could no longer care for herself and had since spent the last 10 years in and out of rehabilitation facilities. In these facilities she gained relationships and if you know you know she was everyone’s grandma! This past year has been the hardest on her physical and mental health. She was in a transportation accident that left her with two broken legs and soon after, another stroke. This stroke caused vascular dementia and following that she was put on hospice. With the lengthy health problems my grandma has endured a majority of her life, life insurance was not an option. With her passing my family has been doing all that we can to give her the home going that she deserves. Watching my mother mourn her mother while facing this financial burden has been very difficult. As we ask for your help please know that anything is appreciated! Anything makes a difference. $10 is not nothing, it’s as special as a bouquet of flowers at her service. Even just sharing this page with friends means the world to us. And on behalf of my family thank you so much in advance for your help.
