Our sweet baby boy, Crew, made his arrival at just 36 weeks and spent his first three weeks of life in the NICU. We thought we were bringing home a healthy baby and that the hardest part was behind us—but sadly, his journey is only beginning.
After countless ER visits, doctor appointments, and hospital stays, we recently received the heartbreaking news that Crew has been diagnosed with Hirschsprung disease—a rare condition where part of his colon is missing the nerve cells needed to move stool and gas through his body. This makes it difficult for him to pass stool, release gas, and gain weight. Treatment is available, but it means multiple surgeries, starting with an ostomy that he’ll need for several months before his next operation.
Because there is no pediatric surgeon in our area, we are traveling back and forth to Fort Wayne for his care. This recovery will be long and challenging, and as his mom, I need to be by his side every step of the way. Unfortunately, that means I cannot work right now.
We are asking for help to ease the financial burden of medical bills, travel expenses, and daily needs during this time. Most importantly, your support allows Crew to have his mama and daddy with him through every procedure, every hospital stay, and every milestone in his fight to get better.
If you cannot give, please keep Crew in your prayers and share his story—every kind thought, donation, and share helps bring our boy one step closer to healing.
