My name is Amanjit, and my family and I have proudly run the longest standing establishment in University Place, WA, since 1996. Our business is a true family operation, managed by my father and me, and we’ve always been grateful for the support of our community. Recently, our world was turned upside down when an offender robbed my vehicle and crashed it into our storefront. The impact caused significant damage to both my car and the business, leaving us with a boarded-up front and a cold draft that makes it difficult for customers to dine in. Many people aren’t sure if we’re open, and our visibility in the neighborhood has taken a big hit. Personally, I am still recovering from bruises and lacerations to my hands and knees, but I’m doing my best to keep things going for our family and loyal customers.
The aftermath of this incident has been overwhelming. We are now facing the burden of repairs, lost business income, and rising insurance costs. Our landlord has made it clear that we are responsible for all repairs, which has added to the stress and uncertainty. Any funds raised will go directly toward repairing the storefront, covering the loss of business, fixing my car, and managing the increased insurance expenses. Getting back to ‘normal’ could take a few months, but we are determined to keep serving our community as we always have.
Thank you to everyone who has reached out with well wishes, your kindness means the world to us. We never expect anything beyond that, but any support to help us get back on our feet would be deeply appreciated. My father, Amarjit, as many of you know has also been dealing with cancer amidst all of this, and every bit of kindness goes a long way. We’ve been honored to serve University Place for so many years, and with your help, we hope to continue doing so for many more
