Support Our Family After Dad's Sudden Passing

Our hearts are shattered. We’ve just lost our beloved father — a selfless and deeply loved man who meant the world to us. His passing was sudden, and we were not prepared emotionally or financially for this kind of loss.
Eric went into Genesys Henry Ford Hospital in Grand Blanc on March 18, 2025 for a moderate risk surgery. He got out of surgery and was talking, laughing, expected to go to physical therapy shortly after then go home with his family. Sadly, it did not go that way.
While in the hospital he contracted a highly contagious bacteria called C. Diff. Colitis. The hospital dragged their feet when my sister asked them to test his bowels (because he was having consistent diarrhea, was getting weaker, was trembling, couldn’t stay awake). His entire mental state and bodily functions were declining and Jewel noticed this.
They finally tested him for c.diff (after my sister kept pushing), but the bacteria got so bad it ran its course and wreaked havoc on dad’s body. The bacteria took over his colon. His belly was SO inflamed that he was writhing in pain, his stomach looked like it was going to pop.
April 16, 2025, they performed emergency surgery to remove his entire large intestine because the c.diff caused so much inflammation that his intestines were about to explode.
Dad unfortunately succumbed to the bacteria, it destroying him shortly after his surgery.
We are doing everything we can to stay strong as a family, but we need help. We want to give our dad the farewell he deserves — one that reflects the love and respect we have for him.
***My dad DID have a policy in place, but it would NOT pay out unless he had the policy for over TWO YEARS. Sadly, my dad didn’t make it long enough for the policy to cover any expenses.***
