Gloves for Grief is more than just a workout. It’s community and healing. It’s about finding a way to release the grief. It’s punching your pain into purpose.
Hi! We are Terra and Ashley, the Co-founders of Gloves for Grief. We met in a Christian support group called Empty Arms that focuses on the loss of a child through miscarriage, stillbirth, or SIDS. We both lost our sons last year and are punching for Weston and Zane.
Gloves For Grief provides a mind, body, soul approach to support the grief community.
Mind: Connection to a network of mental health professionals, and need based financial assistance.
Body: Fitness and wellness inspired events offering community and an outlet for physical release.
Soul: Healing and post event connection through referrals to local faith based support groups.
While the Boxing Gloves connect us to a core element in our fitness program, it also represents fight it takes to work through our grief. Fighting for our lives and fighting for our comeback.
Long term we plan to develop a branch of our nonprofit that provides no cost healing retreats for families in need, and establish a physical location to serve as our headquarters & flagship Grief wellness venue.
Funds will be used to purchase the supplies needed to host fitness and wellness events outdoors in healing locations and support our 3 upcoming events we are planning. It also will help with the fees for our development into a nonprofit.
Remember, you’re not alone. We hear you, we see you, we’re walking down this unthinkable road beside you. There is power in prayer. There is power in community. You do not get over your grief. You grow around it.
