Support our English Conversation Groups

Napier Friends works towards a society where people seeking asylum are welcomed and supported to build positive lives. Our mission is to help people seeking asylum to settle into the local community and their new lives in the UK. We build links between people living at institutional asylum accommodation and other local people, and nurture a supportive and empowering community for people to understand and integrate into British society.

The first thing that we are asked when we meet many of the people we support is for help to learn English - as being able to speak the language is key to social inclusion. We support over 130 people to practice English at 6 Conversation Group sessions every week. This fundraiser is to support our volunteer-run English Conversation Groups - to purchase resources to aid people's learning and for refreshments to help make the groups a welcome space.
