Support Joey's Eagle Scout Shed Project
Donation protected
Joey's Eagle Scout project aims to build a new, durable shed for Canterbury Woods Elementary School. Joey chose this project to give back to the school he attended and loved. This school, home to around 800 students from diverse backgrounds, including Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Advanced Academic center, has been part of a district-wide Get 2 Green initiative. The initiative focuses on environmental education and increasing teacher participation in edible gardening projects, as just one of the focuses.
The current garden beds at the school provide valuable hands-on science and math lessons, but the existing shed is too small and deteriorating. We need a larger, sturdier resin-based shed to store tools and support the growing gardening activities. The new shed will help the school expand its gardening program, allowing students to grow more food than they need, with the surplus being donated to a local food bank.
The funds raised will cover the cost of the shed materials and provide meals for the scouts of Troop 1131 who will volunteer their time to assemble it. We aim to complete the project by May 31, ensuring the school can continue its valuable educational and community work. Your support will make a significant difference in helping us achieve this goal.
