Early morning Thursday around 3am, our coffee shop was robbed.
After more than two years of planning, saving, building, and dreaming, this has been incredibly heartbreaking for our small team of family and friends who have poured everything into creating this space for our neighborhood.
We’re so close to opening and can’t wait to welcome our neighbors into a space we built with real care, intention, and love. We’re from the East Village and know what our neighborhood comes with. Moments like this test you, but they don’t change our commitment to opening our doors and showing up for the community we believe in.
While some items taken can be replaced, a few held deep sentimental value, which has been the hardest part of all.
We’re asking for the community’s help in identifying the two individuals shown in this video so we can take the appropriate steps and help keep our neighborhood safe. If you recognize them, please reach out to us directly.
Unfortunately, we will not be doing our pop-up today, as we need to replace & restock many of our stolen goods, but we will be back Saturday & Sunday for all you good people!
A few members of our community encouraged us to set up a small GoFundMe to help cover unexpected repairs and replace some of what was taken. And there is absolutely no obligation. Sharing this message, keeping an eye out, and continuing to support small local businesses truly means the world to us. The link is in our bio for anyone who feels called to contribute.
Thank you for the kindness, support, and encouragement you’ve already shown us. Please continue to support small, local, mom-and-pop businesses, now more than ever.
We’re grateful for you, and we’re still so excited to open soon!
Happy Holidays
